Philanthropy is a key ingredient for success at an independent school such as Haleakala Waldorf School. Independent schools, colleges, and universities have long relied upon charitable gifts to realize their mission and goals. HWS meets about 80% of its educational costs with tuition, and has achieved excellence in education due to the generosity of many supporters along the way. At HWS, we are driven by the School's mission, creating a community that truly serves the education of our children to reach their fullest potential. Dedicated and experienced teachers educate our children to be creative problem solvers, socially and emotionally intelligent thinkers, and lifelong, passionate learners. To accomplish our goals, HWS relies upon the support and involvement of our entire community (board members, faculty and staff, parents, grandparents, alumni and friends) through a coordinated series of fund-raising activities. Every family is an important shareholder in this unique community that nurtures our children. Your philanthropic participation is essential in making a difference!
There are many opportunities to give at Haleakala Waldorf School whether it be through the annual fund, scholarships and tuition assistance, a special project you are interested in supporting, legacy giving, special events, or your time through volunteerism.
To show our appreciation for the generosity of our donors, we publish our Ke Ala Hou newsletter annual Giving Report issue each fall. In this issue, each contributor to HWS is listed, recognizing the excellence that donors make possible at HWS.
